Steve Chapman is a long time resident of Calgary, moving here from the east before it was fashionable.  Born in Toronto he has also lived in Montreal, Ste Saint Marie, Thunder bay, Kingston and Regina (all before High School - the witness protection program is hell on kids).

He earned two degrees in Psychology from the University in Calgary while a police officer in the Calgary Police Service. His Masters degree focused on Human Factors, the study of how people work in the systems around them. He has used this training to help businesses recreate themselves to better function with the resources they have. He taught Psychology at both the University and Mount Royal College while doing doctoral research into Juvenile Criminal Behaviour.

For 10 years he served Calgarians as a member of the Calgary Police Service. Most of his street experience has been in the downtown/beltline area. He spent a year riding Harleys focused on traffic enforcement and fatality investigation. After attending 50 traffic fatalities there is no one more committed to helping solve Calgary's traffic problems than Steve Chapman. In fact he is the director of TARP (Traffic Accident Response Program) which is dedicated to increased safety and voluntary driver compliance with safe driving practices.

Since leaving the police Steve has been involved in several businesses as a consultant and business coach. He assisted one business expand their sales from $2 million to over $10 million in just three years. His own computer business did over $1 million in sales in its first full year of operation. Most recently he has helped create several publications from books to magazines. He is the author of Assume the Position - Getting Ahead in Business the Police Way. He is coauthor of Take Back City Hall and Mission Critical Coaching - Your job, your life, ETC.

Steve Chapman is the owner of the Ward 8 Business Triage Center at 214 11th Avenue SE which helps businesses and entrepreneurs get a more competitive edge in their growth. After all no one is in business to grow smaller.
